The project

A provenance and authenticity platform that combines blockchain records with steganographic protection for digital artwork.

Technology

TypeScript · React · Tailwind CSS · Hardhat · Polygon · Solidity · thirdweb · Supabase

01

Challenge

Digital artwork can be copied, stripped of attribution, and redistributed at scale. Existing visible watermarks are easy to remove, while ownership claims often lack a verifiable link between the artwork file and its provenance record.

02

Approach

HYDE uses dual binding: encrypted metadata embedded in protected PNG files and SHA-256 provenance records anchored on Polygon. A verification center compares original, protected, and watermark hashes through a clear, non-technical workflow.

03

Outcome

The system received Best Technical Implementation and was presented at the UC CCS Research Congress, demonstrating a practical provenance model across blockchain, steganography, and usable product design.

04

Contribution

As project manager, product designer, and full-stack developer, I shaped the architecture, database, user experience, documentation, sprint plan, and blockchain verification flows.
